Birthday Letter of 1 year old to Mommy&Daddy&BigBro

Have you ever imagined what your 1-year old would tell you if he/she could fully express himself? Our Little Person turned 1. And here’s his letter for us, his parents and big brother.

‘Dear Mommy&Daddy&BigBro,

I enjoyed for 40 weeks in Mommy‘s belly and wasn’t sure why I was pushed out from that warm and cosy place…A year after, I get it. It’s even better in the world with your unconditional love and care. Even if it was so uncomfortable to adapt… I had to learn to breathe, digest and understand the creatures called ’humans’. Later, I noticed that actually I look like them! They say more like Daddy, some say like Mommy. And I realised that I am human too. It took me some time to understand that Mommy and me are two different separate human beings.

I am happy that the place I was before my birth was actually Mama. She smells the same. And I love ’titing the titi´ as she says. Never say "No" to that...There’s also a Daddy. I recognised his voice the moment I was born. That’s the guy who kept asking me: ‘my boy, when are you coming out of Mama? We’re waiting for you…’

I would like to say huge ‘Thank you’ to these two humans. They made my transition from womb to this world so much easier. They comforted me when I couldn’t bear my stomach colics. It was scary. Never felt anything like that in my womb house. They helped me to learn falling asleep in their arms with nice soothing music. It was never easy though… I know that Mommy‘s back was hurting but she would continue swinging me. Daddy even sang to me when it's gotten too hard.

I am sorry for sleeping just 30 minutes during a day for 1 year. And it’s still the same. It’s just my strange sleep mechanism… Well, I let you sleep at night… sometimes, even if interrupted sleep. I’m grateful that you would let me sleep in your hands when I was sick, it’s so comforting and soothing. My Daddy would hold me for more than an hour and I could sleep more than my usual 30 mins during daytime.

I know that both of you are exhausted and sleep deprived and not only because of me… I don’t quite understand yet but there are more challenges that you’re facing. I know that from your arguments and upset faces. I get upset too… I’m not in a mood if Mommy isn’t her cheerful-self. I know she’s very tired and gets angry sometimes. I wish she would rest more. My BigBro would agree with me. By the way, I would like to thank my BigBro for leaving me his kitten for safekeeping. We’ve become good friends now. We play together and bite each other. I think my first word was "ca..." meaning "cat". I bet Mom would argue that it was "mama".

Dear Mommy&Daddy, I am so thankful for your help with my teething. Chewing up on your finger is the best part of it. No other thingies would relieve my pain, except that candy gel you apply on my gums. And it’s just fantastic that colourful and tasteful food you give me. I like watching Mommy or Daddy cooking and anticipating the eating of that yummy meal together. "Big eater", you tell me... "Another foodie in the family". Oh, I’m sorry that have that urge to poop when Mommy is eating or immediately after you‘ve cleaned up my bottom. I know it’s hard, especially at 5 a.m. in a morning. Every morning. I’m an early bird, you know like Mama. And thank you Daddy for letting her to sleep in and play with me early mornings.

Dear Daddy&BigBro, Mommy is missing you both so much that even my smile and giggles wouldn’t stop that water coming from her eyes. I have water in my eyes too, sometimes when I fall or feel pain. But her eyes get wet when she doesn’t fall. Maybe she feels pain? I don’t know what to do with her. You should both come and help me to understand what’s going on… I am too little to know how to deal with it.

Guys, I love you much but Mom is my Hero. She's always there for me... I love the most our couch where she puts me on her lap and reads me books. Big and small books. I call them "booo" for now. Working on my "k" in the end of the word. I love dancing and singing with her. Having a cup of coffee, she gives me the spoon to lick off the flavour. Love it! And I enjoy much annoying her by taking off my sock! She keeps a spare sock in every corner (laughing).

Overall, 1 year of my life with you was fine. I am sure you've loved it! Of course, with such a happy baby like me! Who wouldn't like it? Oh by the way, I've turned 1 year old today. So, I am a happy toddler now.

Congratulations and good luck! (giggling).

I LOVE YOU MUCH!

Amir Farhan, you can call me Faro as Daddy says. Or Farik in Russian as Mom says.

P.S. Why when people see me, they say: "What a beautiful girl!"? I am a handsome boy. They must be just jealous of my cute curles inherited from Daddy..."
